In 2011, following nearly a decade serving as a professor and the dean of business and economics at Steinbeis University, Andreas Aulinger founded SMI's Institute for Organization & Management (IOM). His extensive experience is built on his industrial engineering studies at TU Berlin and his doctorate from the University of Oldenbug, as well as his work as the head of the organizational department in Fraunhofer Gesellschaft, as a management consultant and as a research assistant at the University of Oldenburg, where he habilitated in 2004 on corporate networks and entrepreneurship.
Bringing a wealth of experience — from starting as an industrial clerk apprentice and earning BA, economics, MBA and doctorate degrees to two decades of manager-level marketing, strategy and business consulting work to serving as a professor, program director and dean of studies at DHBW for more than a decade — Prof. Dr. Batz's international and intercultural approach has helped him publish various books and journal articles and won him Germany's 2017 Professor of the Year award (Economics and Law).
Building on his fifth-generation Mittelstand family business background and several master's and doctorate degrees, Philipp Bierl is an entrepreneurial expert who has developed and applied his own self-management strategies. As a university lecturer, consultant and speaker at international academic conferences and in practice-oriented formats, Bierl shares his experience and research on family and value creation strategies of entrepreneurial families, the importance of family governance and the emergence of family entrepreneurship.
Originally an aerospace engineer (and a current UK Engineering Council chartered engineer and Royal Aeronautical Society member), Clemens Chaskel combines real-world expertise with academic excellence. As a consultant, he worked with some of the world’s leading institutions of innovation management, strategy and R&D process optimization before completing his Ph.D. — and 15 years of experience has taught him the importance of creating lasting change and real impact. Chaskel is also an industrial associate at the University of Cambridge’s Institute for Manufacturing's consultancy branch.
As a client-focused and innovation-obsessed entrepreneurial thinker with 15+ years of experience in leading large-scale digital and agile transformation programs, Joerg Dullinger is a people-focused person who enjoys solving complex challenges with solution-based, strategic mindsets. In parallel to his roles with industry giants such as T-Systems International GmbH (where he works as a senior project manager for transition and transformation), he shares his leadership, transformation, innovation and management knowledge with SMI students.

With an approach that emphasizes the close link between theory and practice, Eggers educates the future leaders using 20+ years of experience as a professor and priceless insights from his career as a former McKinsey consultant, trainer, coach, HR director at Bertelsmann, and founder and managing partner of EGGERS & PARTNER. Since 2010, Eggers has served as SMI's Head of the Chair for Integrative Management.
DBI managing director Christian Kapteyn worked in semiconductor physics and nanotechnology before becoming an entrepreneur, consultant and teacher. After developing DRAM chips with Infineon, he founded and grew a peer-to-peer carsharing platform and a 3D printing startup. He mentors and helps digital entrepreneurs and growing startups refine strategies and business models while raising early-stage funding. As a strategy consultant, he helps large innovative corporates identify digital business opportunities, design sustainable platform business models and implement digital startup ventures.
As a self-described "enthusiastic entrepreneur with an unquenchable thirst for innovation," Christoph Köpernick brings a wealth of experience in information architecture, web development and digital media to his role as a lecturer. His resume includes several CEO, CPO and founder credits — including for LeanSP, which helps optimize LEGO SERIOUS PLAY workshops — and even the role of mayor of the city of Friesack. Having graduated from Steinbeis University himself in 2013, Köpernick offers a unique perspective and interesting insights to his students.

Building on his practical experience, he has offered his scientific expertise as a lecturer for many years, covering strategic management, leadership and organizational psychology topics. He is now a self-employed Consultant with a focus on human resources management.
Having work on around 200 projects with 80 partners, Manuel Madunic has extensive experience in neuromarketing, brand marketing and sports marketing — particularly when it comes to emotional marketing and emotional, needs-oriented brand building. As a managing partner at KIM Sports Management, Madunic is self-proclaimed networker with direct, personal access to around 80% of professional sports clubs, companies, marketing managers and service providers. He also shares his sports management know-how through a podcast called Kabinengeflüster ("Cabin Whispers").

PhD-level mathematician Maria Meiler has been working for more than ten years as a top management consultant and in the online and startup world. Engaging in both corporate and startup work cultures has shaped her as a strategic leader who understands the diverse management needs of businesses. She brings decades of experience from companies such as Google, the Boston Consulting Group and her own three companies (including Consultport, Virtual Academy and Maria Meiler GmbH) to her role as a lecturer, and Meiler is a skilled speaker in international setups, universities and the private sector.
As a junior wealth management and banking professor who covers general business administration, bank management and financial market regulation, Michael Pohl brings significant experience and financial industry insights to his role. For more than a decade, Pohl has worked as the senior risk manager at the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA). He also honed his research skills at Universität Basel, where he worked as a research associate and postdoctoral research for several years.
In addition to being the co-founder and co-owner of intior, a consulting business that focuses on internationalization strategies and market analyses for SME, Jonas Puck is also co-initiator of the Austrian Business Case Competition. Puck works with WU Vienna University of Economics and Business as a professor, founding head of WU's Institute for International Business, academic director of both the MBA in energy management and CEMS programs, and head of the Department of Global Business and Trade. Through WU, he has been a visiting professor in Russia, China, Vietnam and the USA. He is now the vice-chair of the European International Business Academy, having also served as its president.
Helmut Schneider is one of the most multifaceted representatives of his field. As a former student of the marketing legend Heribert Meffert, Schneider brings an innovative outlook to his post as the chair for marketing and dialogue marketing at Steinbeis SMI. In addition to studying dialogue marketing, Schneider's research focuses on issues of social relevance — including communication in the public sector, voluntary commitment and work-life balance. As a textbook author and winner of multiple prizes, he has co-authored the textbook "Strategic Marketing," which has won several awards.
Long-term lecturer Constantin Schubart is extremely experienced in the field of economics. As the founder of Schubart Consulting and COJUNA, Schubart works as a trainer, coach and consultant to help people realize new ideas. He is highly sensitive to management problems and can provide state-of-the-art solutions that encompass current trends and his enthusiasm for future and innovative forms of the working world. Throughout his professional career, he has gained a wide range of international consulting experience.
Using his unique Seebacher Method, Werner Seebacher enables students to present the central economic context in the accounting and controlling of an enterprise in one complete overview and to communicate it in an easy-to-understand format. His extensive experience in consulting, management coaching and lecturing at universities and institutes both in Germany and abroad informs his approach as our finance and accounting professor. Growth strategies, innovation and entrepreneurship expert Markus Venzin combines the structural expertise required to manage complex business development programs with the creativity and flexibility needed to develop new ideas. As a management consultant and entrepreneur, Venzin has supported CEOs and executives across industries in the design and implementation of corporate and business strategies. At SDA Bocconi, he is director of the Claudio Dematté Research Department and the Master's Degree in International Management, a professor of global strategy and the dean of innovation.
With a strong interest in digitalization, trend research and internet economics, Benedikt von Walter is a business economist who has worked with the interdisciplinary BMBF-funded research cluster intermedia and served as a visiting research scholar at LSE, where he wrote several scientific publications about digital transformation. Moving to Berlin, he worked in market and trend research and digital strategy at MTV Networks (VIACOM). Since 2011, he has worked as an independent consultant and lecturer, and he has been a member of Stenbeis University’s faculty since 2016.
Armed with several degrees and experience as the founder and CEO of mesa.ai, Thomas Wilde is an entrepreneur, investor and digital strategist who is focused on AI, data science and the software-as-a-service business model. His Berlin-based company has provided deep social media analytics solutions to major blue-chip companies including Audi, Deutsche Bank, BMW and Google. Now based in Munich, he supports to various startups, works as a management trainer, teaches courses on innovation management, data science and entrepreneurship, and gives frequent guest lectures at various universities.
